It all began when three women went on holiday to the Amalfi Coast and came back home with a concept that would eventually create the Vietri label. The idea was to introduce the hand-crafted elegance of Italian tableware to dinner tables across the country. However, that goal had not been formed.

They found the plant and visited with Don Vincenzo Solimene, using their taxi driver as an interpreter and guide. In less than a week and with a handshake from Mr. Solimene, the three women left Italy with a bag full of specimens and their desire to establish a firm representing the essence and magic of Italian dining tradition.
Vietri still sells the Vietri Campagna line, which Mr. Solimene tries to produce for Vietri. On the other hand, Vietri employs over 140 Italian artisans to produce their “Ineffably Italian” wood, porcelain, and glass table and home decor items.
